Jordan Zimmerman

GIS Analyst

Jordan Zimmerman is a GIS Analyst focusing on producing Draft and Preliminary Flood Insurance Rate Maps for Indiana counties in collaboration with the Indiana DNR for FEMA’s Risk MAP project under the Cooperating Technical Partner (CTP) Program. He also helps prepare the Indiana Geographic Information Office’s Indiana Data Harvest and has helped with the Indiana Department of Homeland Security’s Multi-Hazard Mitigation State Plans. He received his Bachelor of Science in Geology and Undergraduate Certificate in Geographic Information Science in 2023 from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI). Additionally, he studied graphic design principles in the Visual Communications and Design program at Ivy Tech Community College in Noblesville, IN from 2016 to 2018. Jordan completed his undergraduate geology capstone in 2022 at the Judson Mead Geologic Field Station in Cardwell, MT mapping geologic units in the valley of the Jefferson River in the Tobacco Root Mountains. In 2023, he started an undergraduate research project using GIS and remote sensing to interpolate metamorphic folding in Joshua Tree National Park, CA. Jordan was a member of the Earth Science DEI Community Builders at IUPUI, a collaboration of students who create opportunities for diversity, equity, and inclusivity engagement within the department.
