Polis partnered on the Indianapolis Health Equity, Access, outreach and Treatment (iHEART) Collaborative, funded by Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation and including IU Health, the IU Fairbanks School of Public Health, and the Indiana Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute. The goal of the initiative is to reduce health inequities that contribute to overall heart disease and cardiovascular health. Polis designed and developed a community engagement data dashboard for the collaborative. We are pleased to share that the Indianapolis Business Journal has nominated the iHEART Collaborative for an IBJ Excellence in Health Care award. Nominations recognize initiatives in the Central Indiana health care industry that are making a significant impact on quality of health care. Karen Frederickson Comer (co-PI) attended the IBJ Excellence in Health Care Award event on February 25 on behalf of Polis. IBJ award recipients will be featured in a special IBJ publication on February 28. In addition, Kayla Duncan and Allegra East collaborated with IU Health and our other iHEART Collaborative partners to facilitate an invitation-only national webinar on February 18, Bridging Health Disparities: The Role of Collaborative Strategies in Creating Healthier Zip Codes. The event presented programmatic insights and strategies in improving health outcomes undertaken by three healthcare systems (Jefferson Health, Rush University Medical Center, and IU Health) as part of Novartis U.S. Foundation’s Healthy Zip Codes initiative.
