Biography

John is a senior research analyst at Polis and a proud graduate of Indiana University. His work blends data analysis, data science and spatial analysis to generate informative, actionable insights, build robust data and analytics pipelines, and develop interactive dashboards and mapping tools designed to empower communities and support resilience.

His technical expertise includes social and environmental determinants of health, community health research, geospatial analysis and modeling, big data analytics, automated analytics and reporting pipelines, and custom web application development.

John is passionate about science communication and education, especially at the vital intersection of public health, environmental health, and community well-being and resilience. Prior to joining Polis, he worked for several years in private-sector consulting and collaborated with health researchers at IU and other universities. This dual background helps inform the development of practical, data-driven resources that support decision-makers, communities, and residents in driving meaningful change.
